Seven of us headed towards Applegate to hike part of the Jack-Ash Trail. We started at the Deming Gulch TH and headed north. This was a new hike for most of us and we had great weather.
The trail was flat for the first 3 miles, then we took a right turn up the hill and found a great place for lunch, including a bench facing the view. After basking in the sun and enjoying the view, we headed up a bit more, then down the Grub Gulch trail to our shuttle car on Griffin Lane. On the way we passed a couple of the local property and mining claim owners who helped us get back on the right trail.
We all had a great time enjoying the outdoors.
